My collaborations with Dr. Vieira and her team have been invaluable for pushing my science forward in important ways. Her expertise with fluid biomarkers and inflammatory mechanisms of brain health are top tier and crucial for building whole-person models of mental health. I could not ask for a better partner on complex initiatives pushing the boundaries of molecular research in this space.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dr. Vieira in many capacities over the years – she is passionate about science and supporting the people around her. Her commitment to Womenmind has strengthened the impact of our program, through supervising postdoctoral fellows to advance research in women’s mental health and her leadership in the development and implementation of the Womenmind Mentorship Program. Her values and dedication made Dr. Vieira the perfect candidate to receive the Womenmind Leadership Grant in 2023. I look forward to continued collaboration with Dr. Vieira and the CeLIINe Lab to advance critical research and discovery, and to make progress for women in science.

My collaboration with Dr. Vieira dates back when she was a young and bright scientist in Brazil. She analyzed the blood biomarkers that we collected from patients who participated in a large clinical trial evaluating the efficacy of brain stimulation in depression. With her crucial collaboration, the field moved forward to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of action of these neuromodulation techniques.

I have had the good fortune to work closely with Dr. Vieira and her team across two large-scale prospective cohort studies, across adult and youth participants with distinct health concerns and care pathways. Dr. Vieira’s expertise is critical to realizing the impact of these multimodal datasets to advance health science – she is a go-to resource for our molecular data collection, processing, analysis, and beyond! Her mentorship of junior colleagues is particularly appreciated, and even further extends her impact on the field.

I've acquainted with Dr. Vieira since she arrived at Dr. Antonio Lucio Teixeira's research group at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2012. Dr. Vieira has been a valued and longtime collaborator of our research team. Over the past decade, she's made substantial contributions to our studies on identifying biomarkers for traumatic brain injury-related short and long-term neuropsychiatric outcomes. Beyond her professional expertise, Dr. Vieira is a loyal and trustworthy friend with whom I've had the pleasure of working and sharing personal moments.
